The League:
The League will consist of 12 teams divided between the NFC & AFC conferences. Playoffs will consist of each division winner plus two wildcard teams based on W-L Pct. Playoffs in each conference.
Owners have the option to retain their current franchise in the following season.
Returning owners can challenge for an existing franchise, even if protected.
A weighted dice roll will determine if the present owner continues as owner of the franchise or if the challenger assumes control.
Team Retirement
Teams used in previous seasons that made the post season are not eligible to be used in upcoming seasons unless they are the only available team to satisfy the current theme. Any team that won a championship are ineligible for any future leagues.
Franchise Ownership Challenge Rule
Roll of 100 sided die will determine if present owner or challenger gains possession of the franchise.
Championship winners automatically have the right to their franchise. No challenge is allowed.
The dice roll is based on team winning %. If the present owner finishes at .500 he has a 50/50 chance of retaining ownership. If his winning % is .623, he has a 62% chance of retaining ownership. A minimum of 80 is allotted to playoff teams. This means that a team with a .520 win % that makes the playoffs would not have a 72% chance, but an 80% chance.
All teams that make the playoffs, but do not progress past the 1st round receive an extra 20% added to their retention #. Using the above example with their team's winning % at .623 and making the playoffs, the incumbent will have a 82% chance of retention (rolls 1-82).
All teams that make the Conference Finals will have and additional 10% added to their retention #. Using the above example they would have a 92% chance of retaining their franchise.
The Championship runner up will have and additional 5% added to their retention #. Using the above example they would have a 97% chance of retaining their franchise.
Longevity: Add an additional 5% for owners who have 5 or more consecutive seasons w/a franchise. Add 10% to those who have 10 or more consecutive seasons. If for any reason a franchise is NOT eligible for a theme that season does NOT count against the owner's longevity. It does not count toward it as well.
To challenge you MUST relinquish the rights to your current franchise. If you lose your challenge you will drop 5 spots in the random re-entry draft. If you win your challenge you gain control of the franchise. The owner who lost the franchise automatically gets the #1 pick in the re-entry draft. If there are multiple managers who lost their franchise there is a random order selection set for them at the top of the re-entry draft.
Bottom line is: The better your team performs the more you increase your chances of retention, just like a real life coach.
Rosters:
Each team must have an active roster of 53 players. Rosters will be filled with players throughout pro football history. Teams will be comprised of the following: 3-QB, 3-RB, 4-WR, 3-TE, 3-OT, 3-OG, 2-C, 3-DE, 3-DT, 3-OLB, 2-ILB, 1-lB, 3-CB, 3-S, 1-K, 1-P, 1-KR, 1-PR and 10 additional players. Players with multiple positions will fill the requirements for both positions. Changes to the roster can be made at any time prior to the start of your game by activating / inactivating players on your team. All teams must be at the 53 man roster.

When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to
name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in
each division prior to proceeding to step 2. In situations where three or more
teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding
of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if
the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.
